Moments of Genius No. 6: Nani

I never thought Nani would feature here, because he’s shit. But today (and in fairness in the last couple of games) he has actually looked good. And he capped those good performances with a spectacular goal against Arsenal. Whether the finish was deliberate is debatable (actually it’s not, it wasn’t) but the turn that beat two men out wide was genuine class. A moment of genius, you could say…

Pre-season friendlies and meaningless tournaments have begun, and teams are shaping up for the new season. Man City have bought half a side, including four strikers, and don’t look to have stopped yet. The other big/rich sides have been less active – Zhirkov, Glen Johnson, and of course Michael Owen the most notable.
