Fantasy Christmas Picks

As discussed in our main story, there are two games in three days over Christmas, three days that could have a big bearing on some team’s season – and some peoples’ jobs. Here is how we think Fantasy Managers can profit from the festive fun:

1. Benni McCarthy

Last week we tipped Roque Santa Cruz, as Blackburn would profit from ‘new manager’ syndrome and outclass Stoke. They did – but Roque missed out injured. In his absence, Benni McCarthy did the business – and we’ll stick him in this week. With games against Sunderland and Man City, there is strong potential for points. McCarthy also takes penalties.

2. Antonio Valencia

Wigan have a double gameweek coming up in January – so load up with their players in preparation for a four point minimum from their regulars. And the best of them is Antonio Valencia. The hugely talented Ecuadorian is constantly linked with a move away from the JJB – and surely it will only be a matter of time until he goes onto bigger and better things.

3. Nemanja Vidic

Because of their World Club Cup commitments Man Utd have two double gameweeks coming up – so its essential to stock up. Ronaldo is the obvious acquisition, but also look for the clean sheet potential so many games can provide. Vidic is also a threat at the other end, scoring in Utd’s global jaunt last week. Shut outs against Stoke and Boro are likely.
