John Terry’s sending off was the highlight of this scoreless draw at Goodison Park – although it was an absorbing game, with chances at either end. Everton may be slightly the more disappointed, having a goal disallowed (probably justly) and shading the number of chances. Petr Cech was certainly the busier goalkeeper.
Neither side will be happy that this result leaves Liverpool top of the table over Christmas – but then neither will be too disappointed with a point, either.
