Playalikes: Number 3: Dimitar Berbatov and Eric Cantona

Lookalikes are ten-a-penny – anyone can make Dirk Kuyt look like Sloth from the Goonies, or Peter Reid look like a monkey. It takes more to put two people together stylistically and functionally; players who remind you of one another, players with similar styles – players that could be clones of one another. Number three in our series: Dimitar Berbatov and Eric Cantona.

The Championship at Christmas

Undeniably, we focus on the Premiership. It’s what people want to watch and read about, and its what we want to watch and write about. But for once, let’s look at the other divisions – and the next best thing is the Championship…

Fantasy Christmas Picks

Carlos Tevez to Bayern Munich

Our sources tell us that Carlos Tevez is close to sealing a £23.5m move to Bayern Munich. United do not hold his registration and he is still on loan – and after being forced to play second fiddle to the misfiring Berbatov, can you blame him for not wanting to make his move permanent? He [...]

Throughout football writing, journalism and commentary, you hear the occasional, but recurring, adjective/phrase that seems ‘out of place’. Words that have no place in the vocabulary of your average football fan. Yet, they only ever seem to crop up in reference to football. We’re not talking about ‘dominant’ or ’slide rule pass’ here – but [...]
