Just to compound my frustration, anger and irritation at the dirty, cheating b@stard James Collins, he has been awarded 3 bonus points by Fantasy Premier league (the most available) for his underhand, dishonest defending.

He should have given away two penalties, he should have been sent off – instead he walked away with the man of the match award.

I despair sometimes.

The bias of being a Sunderland fan allows me to jump on this bandwagon but having watched the game and then seeing his performance highlighted on MOTD 2 it was not him being good it was just Sunderland’s attack being bad that made him look like a man of the match.

Cisse cannot header ye we lumped balls at him all day and the preoccupation Jones, Cisse and Diouf have with running into the box in a straight line makes them so easy to defend against that even Titus Bramble would not get confused by their movement.

Yes he won everything in the air against Cisse but that does not say a lot as Alan Wright is probably a better winner of headers. The fact he was skinned for pace by Cisse and had to foul him and seemed to struggle to deal with Jones’ power and had to foul him does not make him man of the match. It makes him lucky to get away with it.

I didn’t actually catch MOTD2, but however well he defended someone who should have been sent off and given away two penalties, in my opinion, can never be a legitimate MOM.

Sunderland did look bereft of ideas, certainly a concern considering the investment. If you can keep the ball on the ground for Cisse and in the air for Jones you should be ok!
