The Official Fantasy Football League – http://fantasy.premierleague.com – a cut above the rest. There is no particular reason why you should listen to me, as my team is currently labouring in 269,928th place (out of 1.7m) suffering from an obsessive refusal to accommodate the points machine Ronaldo. Further examination of the Ronaldo fantasy football phenomenon can be read here.
But I will go ahead in any case. My pick for this weekend’s games is Frazier Campbell of Spurs.
The pros:
- After scoring for England U21s, and against Fulham and Liverpool for Spurs, he is pretty sure to start.
- He is extremely cheap – only £5.1m at time of writing.
- Bringing him in for a more expensive striker frees up funds to strengthen elsewhere (Kuyt anyone?)
- Spurs are home to struggling Blackburn, and will be anxious to bounce back from defeat to Fulham
The cons:
- There is a real risk he won’t start, in which case this is a rubbish tip. But I have an inkling he will.
In any case, he is a cheap option, so if he doesn’t start you should have strength on the bench to come in and replace him. But if he does, being in great form, its likely he’ll trouble the scorers…
