Weekend Preview

The weekend’s Premiership Fixtures:

Saturday, 4 October 2008

Tottenham v Hull, 15:00

West Ham v Bolton, 13:30

Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd are all away from home, automatically meaning a tough game in this season’s Premiership. This is particularly true for Liverpool, who visit Man City, and will surely be happy with a point. Now Robbie Keane has broken his duck, it will be interesting to see if he can kick on. Arsenal visit Sunderland, and after their abject performance against Hull then their terrific performance against Porto, who knows how this will go. Alex Ferguson faces one of his proteges as Utd visit Blackburn – Utd will be looking to accelerate after a slow start to the season and will be disappointed with anything less than three points. Particularly as Ronaldo is now back and firing. Chelsea are the only one of the ‘Big 4′ to play at home – but they against an in-form Villa side that Alex Ferguson recently tipped as title contenders. Can they live up to the billing?

Spurs have a crucial game, nothing less than a win will repair their shattered confidence, whereas Hull are flying – and I wouldn’t bet against them taking something from the match. West Brom-Fulham is a difficult one to call, likewise Everton-Newcastle, with both sides hugely out of form. Wigan will fancy taking Boro at home, with finally Pompey probably the strongest favourites at home to Stoke. But with their recent erratic form, who knows.

In a novel twist, all the Premiership teams play this weekend – but then not again until October 18th due to International fixtures. So make sure you get your fix!
