England v South Africa, August 26th, 14.30, Trent Bridge

Prior, Bell, Shah, Pietersen (c), Flintoff, Bopara, Wright, Patel, Broad, S Harmison, Anderson

Was the team for the last one-dayer, and is likely to be so for tomorrow after the excellent performance in the first. Can England kick on and take a 2-0 lead? The team looks balanced, with a very strgon batting line up (Broad is probably one of the best England no. 9s in ODI memory) and with Harmison back fit and firing, alongside Anderson, Broad and Flintoff, with the rest made up of Bopara, Wright, and the spinning options of Patel and Pieterson, for the first time in a while we look good.

Although that may be bandwagon confidence after the first game.

Looking back at my predicted 2020 team:

Bell, Prior, Peteirson, Shah, Bopara, Collingwood, Flintoff, Swann, Broad, Harmison, Anderson

Not miles off… Wright for Collingwood, and Patel the spinning allrounder as opposed to Swann. Bodes well for a unified ODi/2020 team… now we just need to synergise the test side.
